(The Magnus Racing crew removes the engine and gearbox before installing a fresh endurance driveline in preparation for this Saturday’s Rolex 24)
Craig Stanton, along with teammates John Potter, Marco Holzer and Richard Lietz, will be starting from the third position when the green flag drops at Daytona Saturday afternoon.
GT class Qualifying for the 2011 Grand-Am Rolex 24 at Daytona took place today at 4:15 PM EST. Stanton posted the fourth fastest time during qualifying. The team then inherited third place after Andy Lally and the #67 TRG Porsche team were forced to forfeit their qualifying time due to a technical infraction involving the rear bumper.
Having successfully completed qualifying, Magnus Racing has shifted their focus to race preparation. In addition to changing the engine and gearbox, the crew has begun to setup the pits, inspect the car and verify they have all the supplies needed for the race.
Craig is feeling great and is looking forward to tomorrow’s testing sessions. “We (the drivers) are all happy with the car setup, we won’t be changing much. Everyone on the team has their target set on Saturday afternoon.”
